Biography:Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (born November 1, 1973) is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Hindi and Tamil cinema. After winning the Miss World 1994 pageant, she made her acting debut in the political drama *Iruvar* (1997) and entered Hindi cinema that same year with *...Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya*. Her subsequent releases included *Jeans* (1998) and *Aa Ab Laut Chalen* (1999).
For her performance in the musical *Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam* (1999), Rai won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She followed this with *Taal* (1999), *Kandukondain Kandukondain* (2000), and *Mohabbatein* (2000). She earned a second Filmfare Award for Best Actress for the period drama *Devdas* (2002). Her releases during this decade included the Bengali feature *Chokher Bali* (2003), *Raincoat* (2004), *Dhoom 2* (2006), *Guru* (2007), *Jodhaa Akbar* (2008), *Enthiran* (2010), and *Guzaarish* (2010). She also appeared in English-language productions, including *Bride & Prejudice* (2004) and *The Pink Panther 2* (2009).
Following a hiatus, Rai returned to cinema with *Jazbaa* (2015), the biographical drama *Sarbjit* (2016), and *Ae Dil Hai Mushkil* (2016). She later starred in the historical drama *Ponniyin Selvan: I* (2022) and its sequel *Ponniyin Selvan: II* (2023).
